Freshman Elizabeth McNabb

Get behind the scenes of Illinois Gymnastics with Illini Ink - the weekly women's gymnastics journal. In this year's 19th edition, freshman Elizabeth McNabb recaps the squad's latest meet at Missouri and looks ahead to this weekend's meet against UIC.
Hey Illini Fans!
Last weekend we traveled to the University of Missouri for another PINK MEET! Overall, the meet went really well with a team score of 195.4. The team really came together to cheer each other on! We had a lot of fun and were excited to help support those affected by breast cancer. Instead of wearing our usual Illinois tattoos, the Missouri girls gave us breast cancer tattoos to wear! Along with our pink ribbons and competition leotards, the tattoos were fun to wear to support the cause.
We have a longer week of training before another home meet this weekend against UIC. The men's team will be competing against Penn State on Saturday night at Huff Hall as well. The team has been working really hard this week and is looking forward to the competition! We have been paying special attention to the little details of our routines so we can get even closer to our team goal!
Outside of practice, we have been working on another routine for Jock Jams. Jock Jams is a talent show, hosted by student-athletes of Illinois, to raise money for three different charities. It will be held in Huff Hall on February 23rd at 7 pm for everyone who wants to come watch the University of Illinois's varsity sports teams perform.
Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! Thanks for reading!
