Illini Break Team Record in Win - 3/6/99

The University of Illinois women's gymnastics team established a new school record in a 195.800-195.175 victory over No. 10 Ohio State in their last match of the season at Huff Hall Saturday night. The new team best comes one meet after the Illini finished with a previous best of 194.475 against Minnesota last weekend.

The No. 19 ranked Illini were led by sophomore Phaedra Dixon, who finished first in the all-around competition with a new career high of 39.350. Dixon also set a career high on the vault with a score of 9.825, and tied a career high with a 9.900 on the floor.

The Fighting Illini (7-5 overall, 3-3 Big Ten) will be back in action on Friday, March 12, traveling to Baton Rouge, La. for a 7 p.m. dual meet against LSU.
