    High School/Club: Four-time USAG Region 7 All-Star team member (2010-13) ... Six-time Region 7 Qualifier (2008-13) ...Five-time Level 10 Junior Olympic National qualifier (2009-13) ...8th place on bars and 6th in all-around at Nationals in 2013 ...5th place floor and 18th in the all-around at Nationals in 2012... 2012 Virginia State Level 10 all-around champion... Two top-10 finishes at both the 2011 and 2010 Junior Olympic Nationals (2011 - 7th on floor, 6th in the all-around; 2010- 7th on vault, 10th in the all-around)... 2010 Virginia State floor champion... Honor Student 2009-present... "Certificate of Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Performance" awarded 2010-12. Club Coaches were Tatiana Perskaia, Marina Gerom, Oleksandr and Victor Vetrov.

    Personal: Born February 24, 1995 ... Daughter of Steve and Jane Buchanan ... Has one older brother Taylor and a younger brother named Keith ... Grandfather Norm Snead played quarterback at Wake Forest and was drafted in the first round of the 1961 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins; played 16 seasons and was named to the Pro Bowl four times ... Chose Illinos because, "Great academics and it's a team on the rise. The team and coaches are great and I wanted to be a part of that."

    What being a Fighting Illini means to you: Becoming a part of a great history, and being a part of our own history.

    First impression when you met the team: Very welcoming, fun, and outgoing.

    What do you hope to accomplish in your debut season: I just want to help the team continue to achieve in any way I can.

    What are you looking forward to experiencing outside of gymnastics: Being a college student and experiencing all that U of I has to offer.

    What you hope to learn from your coach/teammates this year: How to balance and succeed at being a student and an athlete; how to become a more complete gymnast.

    What class you're excited about taking: I'm excited about meteorology.

    What opponent are you most excited to compete against: I have friends on most B1G teams ... Nebraska, Michigan State, Iowa ... I am excited to compete against them all.

    Favorite part about campus: Main quad

    Favorite guilty pleasure food item: Chocolate

    Favorite movie from last year: Pitch Perfect

    Favorite hobby outside of sports: Photography

    Favorite dance craze (wobble, cupid shuffle, etc.): Harlem Shake

    Favorite building on campus and why: The ARC really impressed me. It's an awesome facility.

    Favorite vacation spot: Corolla, NC

    Favorite person to follow on twitter and why: Shawn Johnson - I've always looked up to her.

    Favorite summertime activity:In the summer I love to visit the beach - my grandmother lives on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and we try to get down a few times each summer.

    Dream you would like to accomplish in your lifetime: Scoring a 10.0

    What is a hidden talent of yours: I love to draw

    How you would describe your class (Sr, Jr, etc) of girls: A talented and well-rounded group of girls. I'm so lucky to be a part of the incoming freshman class!

    If you could relive one day, what would it be: Winning state when my mom was in the hospital or getting 6th AA at nationals
