CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois women's golf coach Renee Slone announced the signing of two talented golfers to national letters of intent on Monday. Jackie Calamaro (Newtown Square, Pa. / Radnor High School) and Ember Schuldt (Sterling, Ill. /Sterling High School) will join the Fighting Illini for the 2010-2011 season.

"We are eagerly anticipating both Jackie and Ember joining our Illini Women's Golf family next fall," head coach Renee Slone said. "Both of these young ladies excel not only on the golf course but also in the classroom and will be excellent representatives of our program."

Schuldt and Calamaro are ranked 46th and 48th, respectively, in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Polo Golf Rankings class of 2010. Calamaro is a two-time Pennsylvannia State Women's Golf Association Junior Girls Champion. Schuldt, likewise, was the 2008 Illinois Junior Golf Association Junior Girls Champion and 2009 Runner-up.

"Both Jackie and Ember have been involved in numerous activities in high school outside of athletics and academics and have managed their time very well which will enable them to make a smooth transition to college. We look forward to both players making an immediate impact on the future success of our program."
