CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - University of Illinois head women's golf coach Renee Sloneannounced the addition of four golfers for the 2014-15 season. Over the course of the week, Dana Gattone, Grace Park, Chayanid (Jan) Prapassarangkul and Pailin Ruttanasupagid signed their national letters of intent to be part of the Fighting Illini program.
"We are extremely excited about the four student-athletes that have joined the Fighting Illini family," Slone said. "Dana, Grace, Jan and Pailin are tremendously committed and hard-working individuals. Each is highly motivated to do everything she possibly can in the coming months to be fully prepared to make an immediate contribution to our teamís success when she steps foot on campus in August. They understand the vision of our program and are excited to assist in making those goals a reality. All four student-athletes have enjoyed great success at the national level and are terrific students. They share our core values and standards and will be wonderful ambassadors for our program, athletic department and the University of Illinois."

Coach Slone Says: "Although she is soft spoken, her golf game speaks volumes. Playing in northern California, she is tournament tested in a highly competitive environment. She continually challenges herself against the best players in the world by playing in numerous USGA events each year. Grace is a highly disciplined individual that stays on task in any situation. Her diligent approach to practice and strength training/conditioning is admirable. She is a very loyal person and will be a great teammate."

Coach Slone Says: "Jan has enjoyed a highly successful junior career and has been ranked as one of the top players in her graduating class for the past several years. She is an extremely dedicated individual to both her academic and golf success and puts forth countless hours perfecting her skills. She has maintained a highly demanding schedule in high school which will serve her well she prepares for the academic rigor of our College of Engineering. Jan has the ability to go low and the confidence to finish rounds in a strong fashion."

She has been challenged on a daily basis by playing on one of the most highly competitive high school golf teams in the nation as well as competing in Southern California which is a hotbed of golf talent. Pailin has been ranked as one the top 20 players of the Class of 2014 and is a highly gifted player. Having won numerous tournaments, she has the experience to close out a round and earn a victory."
