Illini Look to Carry Success into Minnesota Invitational

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Coming off of a strong start to their new season at the Ptarmigan Classic in Colorado, the Illinois Women's Golf team will head to Minneapolis to play in the Minnesota Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Minikahda Club and will consist of three rounds of golf spanning two days. The tournament consists of a 12 team field, including Big Ten foes Minnesota and Nebraska. The tournament will tee-off Monday at 7:45 AM and take place on a par 72, 6,119 yard course.
This past week, the Illini finished third out of a field of 17 in Colorado. Redshirt-junior Sam Postillion led the Illini, shooting even par for the tournament and finishing tied for fifth overall. Senior Ember Schuldt had the second lowest score for the Illini, shooting a +3 overall and a tied for team best -3 third round. Freshman Stephanie Miller also had a -3 third round and finished tied for 15th overall at +6.
Illinois' team in Minnesota will consist of Postillion, Schuldt, Miller and Emily Joers, all of whom competed in Colorado last week. Junior Erin Ahern rounds out the lineup, competing in her first tournament since joining the Illinois women's golf team last season as a sophomore.
