Saturday (Travel Day):
Today is the day! My dad and I headed out to the first stage of Qualifying School for the LPGA. We arrived in Ontario, California and drove about an hour and half to Rancho Mirage, California, where we will be playing this upcoming week at Mission Hill Country Club on the Dinah Shore Course and the Arnold Palmer Course. On the drive over we were greeted with great views of the mountains and drove by a huge a wind farm! Literally thousands of them lined up in rows. We were able to check out the country club and practiced for a little bit after checking in.
Sunday (1st Practice Round):
We got a 12:00 tee time on the Dinah Shore Course today, no need for any jackets today! 110 degrees was the high. The Dinah Shore Course has so many great memories because this is where the Kraft Nabisco Championship is played every year for the LPGA. The course was in great condition and playing pretty fast and firm. I enjoyed getting to walk across the famous bridge by Poppy's Pond on the 18th hole. I even got to snap a photo of Karrie Webb's plaque from when she won in 2006. She is one of my favorite players and she responded to my photo on twitter! Overall a great day and I am excited to see the Palmer Course tomorrow!
Monday (2nd Practice Round):
Another hot one today, teed off at 12:10 today on the Arnold Palmer Course. Another great track! A little more open than the Dinah Shore but quite a few more water hazards! I found out that I start my first round on this course tomorrow at 7:30! I look forward to many pars and birdies!
