Hi Illini Fans,

Now that everyone has returned to campus and settled in, we are all very eager to kick start our fall season! We also would like to welcome four talented incoming freshmen Dana, Grace, Jan, and Pailin. After spending a few days with them, I am proud to call them friends and teammates. I am also looking forward to all the great successes they will achieve in their first college season.

We all had a great summer on and off the course and were able to take advantage of the great weather. If you have been following our blog over the summer, you have already seen all the successes our team has accomplished in the past few months. Some of us were also able to take classes, making our class load during the season a bit lighter. A few of us also got a chance to relax and travel to different states and even other countries!

We are all very excited for this new era and are looking forward to another fresh start to a great season. This year we are incorporating new vision and mission statements. The coaches have also integrated a new motto into our daily routine, "build a tradition, leave a legacy." This motto reminds us of who we are representing and to take pride in our institution. This personally reminds me that I am playing for something greater than myself and that everything I do reflects on the institution and everyone who has been and will be a part of the Illini family.

Our first tournament is right around the corner on September 8th in Fort Collins, Colorado at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. This is a great tournament to get the ball rolling and we are excited to continue the success we have accomplished here in the past!

Don't forget to follow us on the Fighting Illini website and twitter (@IlliniWGolf) for tournament updates and other exciting news this season! We greatly appreciate your support.
