WILMETTE, Ill. - Two Fighting Illini women's golfers - junior Ember Schuldt and sophomore Erin Ahern - qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship with strong performances in the one-round qualifier on Wednesday at the par-70, 6,010-yard Wilmette Golf Club. The top six finishers in the 18-hole tournament earned bids to the championship, which takes place June 17-22 at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.

Schuldt carded four birdies to finish with a 1-over-par 71, placing second in the field of 31. Ahern tied for sixth with a 6-over 76 and won a one-hole playoff to notch the final qualifying spot.

The Illini pair will travel to the University of Oklahoma to compete for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links title in June.
