Chip Shots with Hailey Koschmann
April 28, 2009
Go behind the scenes of Illinois women's golf with "Chip Shots", the online golf journal. In the 13th edition of the season, freshman Hailey Koschmann looks back at the Big Ten Championship and says goodbye to the team's lone senior.
This past weekend our team traveled to West Lafayette, Indiana for Big Tens. We played at Purdue's home golf course Kampen. It is a very challenging course with lots of trouble. The temperatures were pretty warm for April but this made the course very windy. Scores were relatively high for the entire field.
Congrats to Nora Lucas who came in 6th place! She played some very good golf this weekend and was the top finisher for our team. As a team, our total for the last round was 306, which was our best total for the tournament. It made for a good last round for the season.
This tournament was our only senior Nancy Featherstone's last tournament. She will definitely be missed a lot by all of us. Next year will be very different without her on the team, but luckily she will still be on campus.
We are all really looking forward to the season next year and will be working hard over this next summer.
Thanks for following!
