Sitter Ends Career On High Note - 5/2/99
Jillian Sitter closed out her Illini career with her best finish in a Big Ten championship event. She shot a final round 79 on Sunday and tied for 25th in the standings with a 72-hole score of 324.
The Illini team finished 11th, shooting a combined score of 1,391 in the four-day event. Illinois shot rounds of 347-349-347-348. Ohio State won its seventh Big Ten championship shooting rounds of 310-313-314-302 = 1,239.
In addition to Sitter's 79 in the final round, Christin Sutton shot 88 on Sunday equaling her low score for the weekend. Lorette Lyttle added a 90, and Nell Macke and Christine Scott both shot 91. Freshman Sarah Kim shot 101 in Sunday's final round.
