Springlake Intercollegiate: Day Two

Illini Fall to 12th in Florida Tourney - 3/16/98

The Illini women shot a team score of 344 on Tuesday and finished 12th at the Springlake Intercollegiate in Sebring, Fla. The Illini's total in the 36-hole tourney was a 673. Lamar won the tournament after shooting the lowest round by a team on either day, a 307, in Tuesday's final round.

Sophomore Lorette Lyttle (West Palm Beach, Fla.) posted the team's best score, an 84, in the final round. Jillian Sitter (Sr., Naperville, Ill.), who shot a 79 on Monday, shot 87 on Tuesday, but was still the team's leader with a two-day total of 166. Lyttle was one stroke back with a 167.

Christin Sutton (Sr., Midland, Texas) shot an 86 on Tuesday followed by Christine Scott (Jr., Lockport, Ill.) with an 87. Nell Macke (Jr., Marshall, Ill.) shot 89 on Tuesday, but it was not counted in the team total as only the top four scores are considered.

Freshman Kate Peters (Arlington Heights, Ill.) competed as an individual in the tournament and shot rounds of 94-95.
