STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - University of Illinois senior Seul Ki Park was named second-team All-Big Ten after her performance at the 2008 Big Ten Championship. Park is the first Illini to earn All-Big Ten honors since Becky Biehl in 1995. The Northbrook, Ill., native turned in a final round 76 and finished tied for 16th at the Big Ten Championship with a tournament total of 303.

"Seul Ki had a solid senior year," head coach Renee Slone said. "She played terrific at the Legends last fall and played well throughout the spring, consistently finishing in the top 20. It's great to see her hard work get noticed with a second-team All-Big Ten selection."

Park tallied four top-five tournament finishes on the year, including a victory at the 2007 Shootout at The Legends. She also finished in the top-18 in all but one tournament this season. Her 75.41 season stroke average is the third lowest in school history and her 77.79 career stroke average also ranks third on the all-time list.

As a team, Illinois (1241) tallied a final round 307 at the par-72 7,228-yard Penn State Blue Course and finished in 11th place. The Orange and Blue's 1241 ranks as the second-lowest 72-hole tournament total in Illinois history.

Senior Stephanie Mory (312) fired a final round 2-over 74 and finished in 37th place. She tallied her best finish and lowest tournament total in three career Big Ten Championships. Her round of 74 was the second-lowest round recorded by an Illini on the weekend. Freshman Raquel Hopton (315) turned in an 81 on Sunday to finish tied for 41st in her first career Big Ten Championship. Senior Kristine Cook (322) carded a final round 76, tying her for 54th. Senior Kristin Kallergis (325) finished tied for 60th after a final round 82. Junior Nancy Featherstone (332) shot an 87 on Sunday to finish in 65th place.

No. 6 Purdue (1169) earned the tournament victory and finished 21 strokes ahead of second-place No. 21 Michigan State (1190). Ohio State (1202), Indiana (1214) and Michigan (1217) rounded out the top five, respectively.

No. 9 Maria Hernandez of Purdue earned medalist honors with a 7-under 281, finishing 10 strokes ahead of the field.
