Illini Remain in Ninth Following Three Rounds of Big Ten Championships

Columbus, Ohio - Illinois shot a third-round score of 318 today to remain in ninth place at the 2004 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships, held at the par 72, 6,201-yard Ohio State Scarlet Course. The Illini own a three-round score of 943. Indiana moved into first place at 904, owning a two-stroke lead over Ohio State (906) in the race for the team title.
Senior Michelle Carroll moved up one spot from 12th place to 11th after leading the Illini today with a third-round score of 78. Carroll now owns a 54-hole total of 230. Fellow senior Marla Cox also moved up one spot in the individual standings, from 21st to 20th after her 79 today gave her a three-round tally of 235.
Indiana's Danah Ford sits atop the 66-player field at even-par 216. She owns a three-shot lead over Ohio State's Allison Hanna (219).
The fourth and final round of the 72-hole Big Ten Championships will be held Sunday.
