After three rounds at the Big Ten Championships in Glencoe, Ill., the Illinois (930) women's golf team has remained ninth out of the eleven Big Ten teams. The Illini tallied a 15-over par 303 in the third round at the par-72, 6,303-yard Lake Shore Country Club, cutting 10 strokes off their second round total. The second round was suspended due to weather on Friday with seven teams still needing to complete their second rounds. The Illini remained ninth after all teams had finished the second round. Freshman Ember Schuldt (231) continues to lead Illinois at 15-over par after posting a six-over par 78 in the third round and is tied for 26th.
Junior Nora Lucas (233) scored a three-over par 75 to improve to a tie at 33rd at 17-over par. Junior Samantha Sloan (234) is right behind Lucas at 18-over par and tied for 36th after posting a two-over par 74 in the third round, the best single round of this year's tournament for an Illinois golfer. Junior Hailey Koschmann (236) carded a third round five-over par 77 and is tied for 41st at 20-over par. Rounding out the Illini is junior Katelin Dilger (241), with a third round five-over par 77, and sophomore Crystal Smith (246), who tallied a nine-over par 81 in her third round.
No. 19 Michigan State (891) continues to lead the team standings at 27-over par, with No. 4 Purdue (893) close behind at 29-over par. No. 31 Ohio State (900), No. 38 Northwestern (901), and Wisconsin (904) round out the top five heading into the final round on Sunday.
Michigan State's Caroline Powers (216) and Purdue's Numa Gulyanamitta (216) are in a tie at even par to lead the tournament individually.
