    ILLINI MAKE TRADITIONAL THANKSGIVING TRIP

    Illinois is participating in the Junkanoo Jam this week in Freeport, Bahamas. With the school on Thanksgiving break, the team has made a habit of taking an extended road trip during that week. Here are some of the places, the Illini have played recently

    BOLLANT, ILLINI SHARED 2011 TRIP

    Illinois and Matt Bollant both played at the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico last season. Bollant's Green Bay team defeated Illinois, 82-62, in the first game of the tournament.

    BOLLANT, IOWA STATE TIES

    Head coach Matt Bollant faced Iowa State while coaching Green Bay, defeating the Cyclones in Ames, 71-57 in the 2012 first round after losing to ISU, 60-56 in 2010 second round.

    CRAWFORD LEADS BIG TEN IN SCORING AFTER POURING in 32 VS. CLEVELAND STATE

    A little more than a week into the Big Ten season and the conference has a suprise scoring leader as Illinois' Ivory Crawford tops the charts. Crawford paes the league at 20.3 points per game after scoring 32 points vs. Cleveland State.
    • Last year, Crawford averaged 6.6 points per game and reached double figures nine times. She has been in double figures in all three games this year.
    • Crawford scored 18 points vs. Bradley, making 9 of 17 from the field.
    • Against Cleveland State, Crawford was 11 of 14 from the field, 4 of 4 from three-point range, and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line.

    ILLINI ALL OVER BIG TEN LEADERS LIST

    Ivory Crawford leads the Big Ten in scoring at 20.3 points per game.
    Alexis Smith leads the conference in assists at 9.0 per game after amassing 13 vs. Cleveland State
    Amber Moore leads the conference in three-pointers (3.7 per game) and assist/turnover ratio (12 assts., 3 turnovers)
    Karisma Penn ranks second in the conference in blocked shots (3.7 per game), rebounding (11.0 pg) fourth in scoring (19.0 pg) and fifth in steals (2.7)
    Taylor Tuck is fifth in steals (2.7 pg)

    SMITH GIVES TEAM STRONG POINT GUARD

    • Illinois head coach Matt Bollant has said that Alexis Smith has the potential to be the best point guard in the Big Ten. Last year Smith played in 19 games and scored just 19 points while amassing five assists. This year, Smith has emerged as force on both ends of the floor.
    • Smith scored 36 points and tallied 13 assists with just four turnovers combined in the two exhibition games.
    • After suffering through some foul difficulty in the opener, Smith had 10 points and eight assists with five turnovers vs. Bradley.
    • Smith had 13 assists and four turnovers vs. Cleveland State. The 13 assists are tied for the third-most in a game in school history.
    • For the season, Smith has 27 assists and 13 turnovers. Her 9.0 assists per game lead the Big Ten.

    PENN OFF TO FAST START

    • Illinois forward Karisma Penn is a two-time All-Big Ten selection, but is looking for first-team all-conference accolades this year. Penn is off to a great start to that end, posting a 29-point, 16-rebound effort vs. Bradley after going for 11 points and 12 rebounds against Bradley. Penn ranks second in the Big Ten in rebounding, averaging 11.0 rebounds per contest and blocked shots (3.7 pg). She is also fourth in scoring (19.0 pg) and fifth in steals (2.7 pg).
    • Penn's 29 points are tied for the third most in a game among conference players. Only Minnesota's Rachel Banham, pooring in 34 vs. Washington State and teammate Ivory Crawford (32) has more.

    MORE ON TULSA

    • Tulsa is 0-3 on the season after a 64-56 overtime loss to Arkansas. The Golden Hurricane have also lost at Oral Roberts (64-53), and Arkansas- Little Rock (73-64). • Tulsa is coming off 13-15 season in which it finished sixth in conference USA (8-8).
    • Taleya Mayberry leads Tulsa in scoring at 19.0 points per game while Tiffani Couisnard averages a double-double (10.7 points, 10.0 rebounds per game)

    MORE ON IOWA STATE

    • Iowa State is 2-0 on the season, having defeated Western Illinois, 84-65, and North Dakota, 73-34.
    • The Cyclones are out-rebounding opponents 47.0-26.5, paced by Chelsea Poppens, who averages 11.5 rebounds per game.
    • Poppens (15.5) leads five players averaging in double figures.
    • Iowa State went 18-13 in 2011-12, posting a 9-9 record and finishing fourth in the Big 12. The Cyclones lost to Green Bay in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

    MORE ON LOYOLA MARYMOUNT

    • Loyola Marymount is under the direction of first-year head coach Charity Elliott and is 2-2 on the season, which includes back-to-back wins over Long Beach State (58-52) and Utah State (98-81). The Lions lost at UTEP (79-51) and New Mexico State (77-76).
    • Alex Cowling leads Loyola in scoring at 16.8 points per game. Hazel Ramirez averages 12.5 points and 7.5 assists per game and Mackenzie Kerins averages 11.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest.

    LONG-RANGE ACCURACY

    • Illinois made 11 three-pointers (11-25) in the 84-52 victory over Evansville on Nov. 11. That is tied for third most in a game in school history. The Illini made 12 treys in an 80-68 victory over Auburn on Dec. 29, 2003 and a 106-74 victory over Providence on Nov. 29, 1997. Illinois also sank 11 3-pointers in a 75-73 victory over Arizona on Dec. 8, 2002.
    • A total of six different Illinois players made threes in that game.
