CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Members of the University of Illinois athletic teams will be accepting donations of hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, coats and jackets from fans attending the women's basketball game vs. Missouri on Wednesday, Nov. 19th. Fans bringing a donation will be admitted free to the game (1 item for 1 free admission). At halftime the student-athletes will present the donated items to Hattie Paulk from the Champaign School District's Warm-A-Kid Program.

The Illinois women's basketball team, led by second-year head coach Jolette Law, is undefeated at 2-0. They take on the Missouri Tigers at 8:30 pm on Wednesday at Assembly Hall.

The Warm-A-Kid program is a function of the Champaign District 4 school system and helps ensure children keep warm during the winter months. The Family Information Center, on 405 East Clark St., collects and distributes winter clothing, mainly coats, hats, and gloves. All items are distributed to children and families in need prior to Christmas break. However, donations are welcome throughout the year. Contact the Family information Center at 217-351-3701 or the school social worker if you know of a child/family in need.
