Quick Hits Illinois scored 84 points in the victory over Evansville. Last season Illinois surpassed the 80-point mark just twice. In fact, the Illini scored 70 or more points just six times in 2011-12.
Illinois forced 26 Evansville turnovers on Sunday. Last year, Illini opponents averaged 18.5 per game.
Illinois is looking to move to 2-0 on the season. That would mark the first 2-0 start since starting 3-0 in 2008-09. The Illini haven't started 4-0 since winning their first five games in 2002-03.
Illinois made 11 three-pointers in its season opener, that is tied for third most in a game in school history. The Illini made 12 treys in an 80-68 victory over Auburn on Dec. 29, 2003 and a 106-74 victory over Providence on Nov. 29, 1997. Illinois also sank 11 3-pointers in a 75-73 victory over Arizona on Dec. 8, 2002.
Ivory Crawford set a career-high with three 3-pointers vs. Evansville.
Illinois is playing its second of three games against Missouri Valley Conference. Illinois also hosts Illinois State on Dec. 21.
Matt Bollant won his debut for a team for the third time, having also won debuts at Bryan and Green Bay. Of the previous eight coaches at Illinois, Laura Golden, Theresa Grentz and Jolette Law each posted wins in their coaching debuts.
Illinois announced a six-player signing class on Wednesday. That class is ranked fourth in the Big Ten by both the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report and Blue Star. The CGBR has the class 25th nationally while Blue Star lists the class at No. 32.
The three home games thus far (two exhibitions and one regular season game) have drawn more fans than the Illini averaged all of last year (1,070). Illinois drew 1,625 for the regular season opener against Evansville.
Alexis Smith made her first career start at point guard. The rest of the four players in the opening day line-up started last year. In fact, the line-up of Smith (1), Ivory Crawford (24 starts), Kersten Magrum (33), Amber Moore (43) and Karisma Penn (96) have combined 197 starts for the Illini.
The Big Ten is off to a quick start to the non-conference season with a combined 16-2 record. The conference has four teams nationally ranked.

The Braves are under first-year head coach Mike Brooks, who as an assistant at Bradley last year.
