Sept. 17, 2008
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois women's basketball team will see unprecedented exposure this season as the Big Ten Conference announced this week additional television and internet coverage. The Big Ten Network will televise two Fighting Illini non-conference games, Nov. 19 vs. Missouri and Dec. 4 vs. Virginia in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, on top of the nine conference games already slated for broadcast. Additionally, at least six games will be streamed live free of charge at BigTenNetwork.com, bringing the total number of Illini games broadcast to at least 17.
Overall, Illinois is slated to have at least 11 regular season games televised - nine by the Big Ten Network and one each on CBS and ESPN2 - and at least six streamed online at BigTenNetwork.com. The last three games of the season could be picked up for television or internet broadcast as well, which would bring the total even higher.
