Moore to Participate in Pro Exposure Trip to China
April 7, 2014
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Former Illinois guard Amber Moore will be part of an all-star team that will travel to China from April 17-May 2 and will play nine games against national teams from China, New Zealand, Australia, Slovenia and Denmark, NetScouts Basketball announced. The trip is an opportunity for the players, who have recently exhausted their collegiate eligibility, to gain exposure to coaches in the WNBA and foreign leagues.
"It's pretty exciting," Moore said. "I knew I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I've never been to China and I've always wanted to see the world. Plus, it will be a great opportunity to build my chances of playing professionally."
An honorable mention All-Big Ten selection in 2014, Moore wrapped up a record-breaking career in the Orange and Blue this season, shattering school marks for three-pointers made and attempted in both a season and a career, along with the career free-throw percentage record. She led the Illini and ranked 10th in the Big Ten in scoring, averaging 15.3 points per game. Moore led the Big Ten and ranked 21st nationally with 2.93 three-pointers made per game. She finished her career with 295 three-pointers, third-most in Big Ten history.
