Junior Lacey Simpson
Feb. 25, 2009
This semester, junior Lacey Simpson will be writing a weekly blog to keep Fighting Illini fans up to date on what's going on behind the scenes. In this week's installment of "Lacing Up," Simpson talks about preparing for the GRE and finishing the season a good note.
Well ladies and gentlemen this week I have been studying for my GRE test that I have to take on Friday at 12:30 PM!!! (UGH) This test is soooo stressful but it is important that I do well on it so that I get into the Department of Communications in order to get my Masters during my 5th year of eligibility. I'm a little rusty with my test taking skills because I haven't had a test since finals of the first semester. But I've been preparing all week with practice exams so I think that I will do well this Friday. (Keep your fingers crossed for me just in case)!!!!
On another note...
We are down to our last two game of the Big Ten season. It seems as if this season just blew past, and I'm having some mixed feelings about it. But the best part about this part of the season is that you still have time to end on a good note. We still have the opportunity to get two big road games to prepare us for the Big Ten Tournament.
Tomorrow we will play Iowa on their senior night and Sunday we will play Minnesota on their senior night. Yes, these are going to be tough atmospheres to play in but we have to go into these two games with that mindset of spoiling their big night since we weren't so successful on our senior day. It is at this point of the season where we all must play our best, play together, focus on what we do best, and give it all we have because once you get into the tournament, every game is going to be a dog-fight. That should be something that we are very familiar with since we are the "Fighting Illini" (lol), so, ladies, put your jerseys on, get a quick stretch, lace your shoes and lets get ready to rumble!!!!!
