Jan. 25, 2012
Champaign, Ill. - The University of Illinois will hold its annual "Pack the Hall" game presented by Fox 55/27 Illinois this Sunday, Jan. 29 in conjunction with the Illini's women's basketball game with 19th-ranked Nebraska. This will mark the Cornhuskers' first trip to Champaign since 1991 and first as a member of the Big Ten Conference.
There will be free admission and free parking for all fans along with ticket giveaways to upcoming Assembly Hall shows for Kelly Clarkson (Feb. 25) and E3 Spark Plugs Monster Trucks (Feb. 11). In addition, the team will hold its final post-game autograph session of the year.
Doors open at 11 am with tip-off of the Illini and Nebraska scheduled for noon. The Illini have been down to the wire against some of the best teams in the Big Ten and Sunday's opponent is another Big Ten title contender entering the week at 16-3 overall and 5-2 in the conference, two games behind league-leading Purdue.
The Illini are playing an up-tempo style paced by preseason All-Big Ten performer Karisma Penn, who is second in the Big Ten in field-goal percentage (.524) and third in the league in blocked shots. Illinois is coming off its best offensive performance under head coach Jolette Law against a Big Ten opponent in a 96-84 defeat at No. 10 Ohio State.
