Catchings Boosts Illini Over Louisville
With :1.7 seconds left in the game, Tauja Catchings scored on a runner to lift the Illini over the Cardinals 69-67 in the NCAA first round matchup in Clemson, S.C. The Illini will take on Clemson, who was a winner over Florida A&M in the second game of the night, Sunday at 6:30 p.m. for a chance to continue to the Sweet Sixteen for the third consecutive year.
Susan Blauser led the Illini in scoring with 26 points on 9-of18 shooting from the field. Freshman Allison Curtin added 21 points and eight rebounds. Catchings, who had the game-winner for the Illini, scored 11 points and nine rebounds.
Illinois, down five points at the half, outscored the Cardinals 42-35 on 46 percent shooting in the second half for the win.
