Stacie Terry begins her third season on Theresa Grentz's Illinois staff in 2006-07. An accomplished player in her days at the University of Texas-Arlington, Terry has brought a fresh perspective to Grentz's staff. In her first season in Champaign, she helped the Orange and Blue nab a recruiting class that ranked No. 18 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten, while also using her previous playing and coaching experience to help the current Illini develop on the court. Her primary floor coaching duties are on the defensive end and working with the perimeter players.

"Stacie has one of the most gregargious and effervescent personalities I've seen and that goes hand in hand with her recruiting assignments at the University of Illinois," said head coach Theresa Grentz of Terry. "She has a wonderful rapport with recruits and she is a pleasure to have on staff. Stacie is very creative and provides us with new ideas to compete with other programs in the recruiting process."

Terry has performed a myriad of coaching duties at the collegiate level, including the coordination of summer camps, scouting, and recruiting. Terry began her coaching career at the UT-Arlington, her alma mater, in 1999 as a graduate assistant. She then spent three seasons as an assistant at the University of Louisville before heading to Dayton for the 2003-04 season. At Louisville, she helped lead the Cardinals to the Conference USA Championship and NCAA Tournament in 2001 and the WNIT in 2002. She also assisted in bringing in the nation's 21st-ranked recruiting class in 2002-03 according to All-Star Girls Report.

Originally a native of San Diego, Calif., Terry attended UT-Arlington and earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in 1998. While there, Terry had a stellar playing career for the Mavericks. Her senior season she led the Southland Conference in three-point field goal percentage (.384) and was a first team All-Conference pick. The shooting guard also averaged 17.4 points per game to lead the team.

Before she joined the coaching staff at UTA in 1999, Terry played one season of professional basketball in Warsaw, Poland, averaging 12 points and six assists a game for the Polonia Phoenix.
