Andre Johnson spent three years as the program's video coordinator from 2007-10, joining Jolette Law's staff prior to the 2007-08 season. Johnson was responsible for film exchange, video breakdowns for scouting purposes, maintenance and upgrades for the XOS video editing system, and all other technology associated with video editing. He also oversaw the student managers.
A 2006 graduate of Illinois and a former student manager, Johnson spent one season as the Director of Operations/Head Manager for the women's basketball team at Marquette University prior to returning to Illinois.
At Marquette, Johnson was in charge of the team's film exchange, as well as assisting with video editing for opponent scouting purposes. He also helped run and coordinate various summer basketball camps, assisted with on-campus recruiting efforts, helped coordinate team travel, daily practice set-up, and practice squad management.
While a student at Illinois, Johnson served as a manager for the Fighting Illini in 2004-05 and a student assistant coach in 2005-06. His duties included assisting with the daily operations of the program, coordinating film exchange, daily practice plans and editing opponent game video for scouting reports.
Johnson also served as an independent contractor for XOS Technologies. He visited various college and NBA teams to install and train the staffs on the latest software package from XOS.
Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in rhetoric from Illinois in 2006.
