Riley Qualifies for 110m Hurdles Final at World Championships

MOSCOW, Russia -- Former Illini Andrew Riley timed 13.30 in the semifinals of the 110m hurdles at the World Championships and advanced to the final after placing fourth in his heat. Riley's time was the fourth-fastest overall, automatically qualifying him to race in the final on Monday, Aug. 12 at 9:30 p.m. in Moscow (12:30 p.m. CT).
The Kingston, Jamaica native ran out of lane nine in the second heat, and finished one tenth of a second behind the United State's Ryan Wilson. The two fastest times of the day also came from the second heat, with Russia's Sergey Shubenkov timing a 13.17 for first place, and David Oliver of the United States finishing one one-hundredth of a second later to take second (13.18).
