Sophomore Colin Mickow will compete for Team USA in the 10,000m at the NACAC Under-23 Championships.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Sophomore distance runner Colin Mickow was selected as a member of the USA team for the NACAC (North American, Central American, and Caribbean Athletic Association) Under-23 Championships, announced USA Track & Field on Friday. The competition will be held in Miramar, Fla., from July 9-11. Mickow is scheduled to compete on Friday, July 9 at 6 p.m. ET in the 10,000m.
"This will be a great opportunity for Colin," distance coach Wendel McRaven said. "It is a real testament to the progress he has made in the last year on the track. The international competition will really help him even more with his progression and help him take it to the next step."
The NACAC Track and Field Championships will have athletes competing from the following 32 member nations: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, St. Kitts/ Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turk and Caicos Islands, United States Virgin Islands, and United States of America.
The 2010 NACAC Under-23 team consists of two athletes per individual event who have met the NACAC Under 23 standard. Mickow met the standard for the 10,000m in his third-place finish at the Big Ten Championships with a personal-best time of 29:10.74. Northern Arizona's Ahmed Osman also was chosen to compete in the 10,000m for the USA team.
