CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- University of Illinois senior Vanier Joseph has been named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. The award follows Joseph's performance at the Drake Relays, where he captured his second straight 110m hurdles title.

The senior qualified for the finals of the 110m hurdles after winning his heat with a time of 13.83. In the finals, Joseph clocked a 13.68, his second-fastest time of the season, to win the event for the second year in a row. The Redford, Mich., native is undefeated in the event this season after winning the title at four consecutive meets, beginning with the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational on March 29. Joseph also holds the second-fastest 110m hurdles time in the nation this season, 13.41, which he posted at the Illinois Twilight on April 12.

This is Joseph's third outdoor track weekly honor of his career and second of the season. He picked up the award two weeks ago after his performance at the Illinois Twilight.
