Riley Receive Preseason Attention for The Bowerman

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - University of Illinois' men's track and field athlete Andrew Riley received recognition in the preseason for The Bowerman, an award given to the top collegiate track & field athlete.
Riley, a senior from Kingston, Jamaica, owns two NCAA high-hurdle championship titles both indoors and outdoors. In 2011, Riley was the indoor 60-meter hurdle champ, which added to his 2010 outdoor 110-hurdle crown. Riley is a six-time Big Ten Champion, holds four school records, and also won the Jamaican national title in the 110 hurdles and placed 14th overall in the World Championships.
The other nine athletes named to the watch list were Robby Andrews (Virginia), Miles Batty (BYU), Curtis Beach (Duke), Jeff Demps (Florida), Leonard Korrir (Iona), Lawi Lalang (Arizona), Tony McQuay (Florida), Maurice Mitchell (Florida State) and Marquise Goodwin (Texas).
Riley will open the 2012 season this Saturday as the Illini host the Illini Open with the meet scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
