KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Junior Andrew Riley earned the Tony Wilson Award for running events, signifying him as the meet's outstanding performer on the track, to cap off a solid weekend at the Sea Ray Relays for the two-time national champion. After winning the 110m hurdles on Friday, Riley anchored the victorious 4x200m and led off the runner-up 4x100m relay at the Tom Black Track on Saturday.
"Andrew was great all weekend and deserved to be named track athlete of the meet," interim head coach Mike Turk said. "We had outstanding performances across the board all weekend even though we faced adverse conditions for the first time this year. The weather didn't cooperate to create conditions for personal-best performances, but I am proud of the way our team competed. This is the kind of meet that will help prepare us for Big Tens."
