USA Cross Country Championships Results
ST. LOUIS -- Illinois redshirt freshman Will Brewster competed in the 2013 USA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, finishing 10th in a field of 72 runners. The 8K race was held at Forest Park, Mo.
"Will had a great run today," volunteer coach Michael Allio said. "He got in a good position early. Then the pack moved, he responded well and had a great kick left when it came time to finish. It was an overall impressive performance."
Brewster covered the 8K course in a time of 25:04.40 to earn junior All-American status. The Illini runner was just four places away from qualifying for the World Cross Country Championships which take place on March 24 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Illini freshman Jereme Atchison also competed at the meet on Saturday, finishing 31st overall with a time of 25:58.90. Oklahoma State's Craig Nowak finished first with a time of 24:47.
