Steve Fuelling begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's cross country program after graduating from Grand Valley State (Mich.) University with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sport Management.

Fuelling ran cross country and track and field for Grand Valley State, where he was a two-time All-American and a 10,000 meter and 5,000 meter NCAA finals qualifier. He was named the 2012 GLIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year after finishing first at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships, and scored on six conference championship teams. Fuelling also helped the team earn two third-place finishes and a seventh-place finish at the Division II NCAA Championships, scoring points for the team each year.

Fuelling is from Milford, Mich. and attended Milford High School, where he is a member of the MITCA cross country "Team of the Decade" (2000-2009).
