The University of Illinois will host the 2011 Big Ten Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships on Sunday, October 30 at the University of Illinois Arboretum. The Illini, who host the championships for the first time since 2001, will compete for the conference crown against several of the nation's top-ranked squads. Admission is free for the event.
Men's 8-Kilometer Race: 10:45 a.m.
Women's 6-Kilometer Race: 11:45 a.m.
Awards Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. (Approximately)
Course maps can be found HERE. The women run two loops and finish the second loop around the start area before finishing. The men run three loops and finish the third loop going around the start area before finishing. The first 5,300-meters is the same for both the men and women. Timing locations will be placed near every kilometer to provide unofficial individual and team results while the races are in progress.
There is no admission fee for the 2011 Big Ten Cross Country Championships. General parking is available in lots F-27 and F-23. Concessions, programs, and apparel will be sold near the finish line.
