    1999: Competed in three meets for the Illini • Ran season’s best 8K time of 25:54.25 at the Illinois Invitational, finishing in 15th place overall • Finished 21st at the Pre-Regional meet.

    1998: Competed in two meets, the Illinois Invitational and Saluki Invitational • Ran fourth for the team at the Saluki Invitational and ninth at the Illinois Invitational • Personal best 8K time of 25:38 came at the Saluki Invitational.


    High School: Earned six letters at Rantoul: two in cross country and four in track • Conference, regional and sectional cross country champion • Conference and sectional champion in the 1,600m run • All-conference and all-state in cross country and track his senior year.

    Personal: Born July 23, 1980 • Parents are Steve Kurtz and Lynn Crandall • Majoring in aeronautical and aerospace engineering.
