Mark Johnson looks to record the 100th victory of his coaching career.

Number 100 for Johnson:
With a win today against either Marquette or
Southern Illinois, head coach Mark Johnson will record the 100th victory of
his coaching career. Johnson had a two-year record of 20-5-2 from 1990-92
at Oregon State and is 79-23-1 as head coach of the Illini. Overall,
Johnson is in his tenth year as a division one head coach, and he has a
record of 99-28-3 (.771).

About Today's Matches:
Today's dual between Marquette and Illinois will
mark the third meeting all-time between the two schools. Illinois holds a
2-0 record in the series. Marquette enters the dual with an 0-1 record
while the Illini are 1-0. Following the Marquette dual, the Illini will
tangle with a more familiar foe in Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. The
Illini and Cougars have met 17 times with UI holding a 10-6-1 advantage.
This will be the first dual of the season for Southern Illinois.
