CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- All-Session reserved school block tickets for the 2013 Big Ten Wrestling Championships are set to go on sale Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. as Illinois will host the championship in Assembly Hall on March 9-10, 2013. Fans have until Friday, Feb. 8 to place their reserved All-Session tickets within their school block. The Fighting Illini are set to host the event for the first time since 2002.
An All-session pass for reserved seating is set at $40 per seat, All-session general admission tickets and single session tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb. 11. All-session general admission tickets are $36 for adults and $24 for student/youth. Saturday single session tickets are $18 for reserved seating and $15 for general admission adults or $12 general admission student/youth. Tickets for championship Sunday are $22 for reserved seats, or $18 for general admission adults and $15 for general admission student/youth.
"We are really fortunate to be able to host the Big Ten Championships in Champaign in 2013," head coach Jim Heffernan. "Outside of the NCAA Championship, this is the next best event in college wrestling. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the championships in March and we are looking forward to having the opportunity to compete in the Assembly Hall against the best wrestling teams in the country."
This year's championship marks just the ninth time Illinois has hosted the Big Ten Wrestling Championships, welcoming the conference's best first in 1930, and following with events in 1933, 1946, 1948, 1958, 1966, 1991 and 2002. The Big Ten features some of the nation's best talent, including the last six NCAA team champions, nine of the current top-25 teams in the nation and five of the No. 1 wrestlers in the nation at their respective weight classes.
