    2012-13: Qualified automatically for the 2013 NCAA Championships by placing sixth at the Big Ten Championships ... Went 2-2 at the NCAAs ... Began the season with a 10-2 record including placing first at the Loras Open, earning Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, placing third at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open and notching six pins in a row ... Ended the season with a 21-15 record ... Went 3-5 in Big Ten duals ... Led the team with 10 pins which is tied for the fifth most in a season in school history.

    2011-12: Placed fourth at the 2012 Big Ten Championships, automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships ... Went 3-2 at the NCAAs ... Recorded a 25-13 record this season, including nine wins by pins ... Went 6-2 in Big Ten duals ... Notched the fastest pin this season, defeating No. 13 Braden Atwood (Purdue) in 23 seconds at the Big Ten Championship.

    2010-11: Full-time starter at 184, qualifying automatically for the 2011 NCAA Championships by placing sixth at the Big Ten Championships ... Went 0-2 at NCAAs ... Started the season 10-3, including five pins ... Placed sixth at the Las Vegas Invitational, out-performing his No. 9 seed ... Named to the Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie team ... Placed third at the Lindenwood Open ... Pinned No. 8 A.J. Kissel (Purdue) in his first career Big Ten dual ... Went 4-4 in Big Ten duals ... Led the team with nine pins, which equaled the ninth-most pins in a season in school history.

    2009-10: Redshirt season ... Recorded a 5-3 record on the year ... Finished third at the Eastern Michigan Open, going 5-1 ... Went 0-2 at the Missouri Open.

    HIGH SCHOOL: 2009 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class AAA champion at 189 pounds, winning three of his four bouts by fall ... Four-time PIAA medalist, finishing second at 140 in 2007, fifth at 152 in 2008 and eighth at 112 in 2006 ... Led Central Dauphin to team state championships in 2008 and 2009 ... Posted a career 171-28 record ... Recorded 31 falls during his senior season ... Raised over $11,000 for the Pins for Preston charity during his senior year. Preston is the son of his neighbor and elementary school wrestling coach, Dean Shields, and has cystic fibrosis.
