ILLINOIS
1999-2000: Second-year starter at 133 pounds Finished fifth at the Big Ten championships and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season Compiled a 19-16 record including 5-6 in dual competition Earned a seventh place finish at the Midlands.
1998-99: The Illinis regular starter at 133 pounds Finished the season with a 16-17 record with one fall Compiled a 3-6 record in Big Ten duals and earned seventh place at the Big Ten Championships Qualified for the NCAA Championships where he went 0-2 with two narrow defeats Placed second at the Las Vegas Invitational Earned his first Varsity I award.
1997-98: Redshirt season Finished with an 11-3 record while competing unattached at 126 pounds Won the Miami Open Also competed at the St. Louis Open and the Northern Open Placed third in Greco at the 1998 Junior World Team Trials and placed fourth in freestyle.
HIGH SCHOOL
Won the IHSA state title in 1995 Finished third at the IHSA state meet in 1997 and fifth in 1996 Jr. National Greco runner-up in 1997 Three-year letterwinner Ended with a varsity record of 139-9 Finished first at the 1996 Greco Junior Nationals and was a Junior Greco World Team member Placed in the cadet nationals in 1994 and 1995 and was a member of the cadet world teams those years On the honor roll eight straight semesters.
