    ILLINOIS
    1999-2000: Placed eighth at the NCAA championships and earned All-America honors after a 13-8 victory over Mike Fickell of Penn • Finished the season with a 30-12 record, one of four Illini with 30 or more victories on the season • Ranks 18th all-time in career victories at Illinois with 77 • Recorded his first collegiate pin the sixth match of the season over Mark Bubrovich of Colorado Mines in the first round of the Las Vegas Invitational • Won the 197-pound title at the St. Louis Open, placed second at Midlands and third at the Las Vegas Invitational • Posted an 11-4 dual record and had a stretch of 19 victories in 21 matches from November 19 to January 16 • Named a team captain along with Adam Tirapelle and Nate Patrick for the 2000-2001 season.

    1998-99: The Illini’s regular starter at 197 pounds • Compiled a record of 24-11 including a 5-4 record in Big Ten duals • Finished fourth at the Big Ten Championships • Advanced to the NCAA Championships a posted a 3-2 record • Earned third-place honors at the St. Louis Open and finished second at the Las Vegas Invitational • Earned his second Varsity “I” award.

    1997-98: Finished third at the Big Ten Championships at 190 pounds • Qualified for the NCAA Championships and finished with a record of 1-2 at the tournament • Placed fourth at the Midlands Classic • Won all four matches in the Peach Duals, Jan. 10 • In the final AWN ranking of the season, he was ranked 15th • Ended with a record of 23-13 • Earned his first Varsity “I” award.

    1996-97: Redshirt season • Competed unattached at the St. Louis Open at 190 pounds and finished second in the Frosh./Soph. Division • Placed fourth at the 1997 Espoir National Tournament.

    HIGH SCHOOL
    A two-time state qualifier, who finished second in Classs AA at 171 pounds in 1996 and second at 160 pounds in 1995 • Compiled a 68-9 record over his junior and senior seasons • Earned four letters in wrestling and two in football • Took sixth place at 178 pounds in freestyle competition at Junior Nationals in 1995 and seventh place at 191.5 pounds in 1996.
