1999-2000: Had an outstanding season with a record of 34-5 with nine falls • The 34 wins rank sixth all-time on the Illini’s single season wins list and the nine falls also rank sixth on the UI’s single season falls chart • Runner-up at the Big Ten championships after having to medical default in the finals due to a knee injury sustained in the semifinals • Placed first at the St. Louis Open, third at the Las Vegas Invitational and second at the Midlands • Had a season-high 12 match win streak from December 3 to December 30, improving his record from 7-1 to 19-1 • Named a captain for the 2000-01 season with Pat Quirk and Adam Tirapelle • Earned the Illini’s Jon Llewellyn Most Improved Wrestler award.

1998-99: The Illini’s regular starter at 184 pounds • Finished third at the Las Vegas Invitational and fifth at the Midlands • Posted a 6-3 mark in Big Ten dual competition • Went 1-3 at the Big Ten Championships and was a wild-card selection for the NCAA Championships.
