ILLINOIS
1999-2000: Filled in for an injured Carl Perry at 141 pounds at the Las Vegas Invitational and two duals posting a 4-2 record while compiling a 9-6 overall mark on the season • Went 2-0 in dual action with wins over Marquette and Southern Illinois • Earned his third varsity letter.
1998-99: Compiled an 8-7 record at 149 pounds competing in the St. Louis Open (1-2), the UNI Open (2-2), the Midlands (0-2) and the Miami Open (4-1) where he earned second place honors • Earned a 17-2 decision over Beau Baker of Tennessee-Chatanooga in his lone dual appearance of the season.
1997-98: Finished with a record of 13-6 in his first varsity season, competing at 142 pounds • Won the 142 title at the Miami Open, Jan. 24 • Placed 8th at the 1998 Junior World Team Trials at 143 • Earned his first Varsity “I” Award.
1996-97: Redshirt season • Competed unattached in two meets • Finished 4-1 in Frosh./Soph. Division at St. Louis Open • Finished 1-2 at Northern Open.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year wrestling letterwinner, who finished third (with a 39-1 record) at 130 pounds in Class AA state tournament in 1996 • Helped his team to a berth in the team state tournament as a senior • Also earned two letters in cross country • High school teammate of Bill Zeman, Ben King and Nick Curby • An honor roll student.
