2003 Outdoor -
Has switched his focus from the steeplechase to the 5,000 meters during the second half of the season ... Finished third at the Iowa Twilight with a 5,000 meter clocking of 14:34.49.
2002 Outdoor -
Competed in both the 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m for the Illini ... Ran a career-best time of 9:11.08 in the steeplechase at the Florida Relays where he finished third ... Finished second in the steeplechase at Clemson and third at the SIU Spring Classic ... Finished second in the 3,000 at the May Twilight in a time of 8:31.78.
Indoor -Ran a season-best 3,000m time of 8:36.13 to finish second at the Illinois Invitational ... Finished second in the mile at the Carle/Heath Illini Classic with a time of 4:18.87 ... Ran a season-best mile time of 4:11.15 at the Alex Wilson Last Chance Invite.
2001 Indoor –
Competed in the 3000m run and mile run … Finished second in the 3000m run at the Illini Classic (2/3/01) … Placed third in the mile run at the Stan Lyons while recording a season-best time of 4:16.50 (1/20/01).
2001 Outdoor –
Ran the 5,000m run and 1,500m run for the Illini … Finished fourth in the 5,000m run at the Big Ten Championships (5/20/01) … Won the Midweek Twilight in the 1,500m run (4/24/01) … Finished first in the 5,000m run at the Southern Ill.-Edwardsville (4/28/01).
CROSS COUNTRY
2000: (Junior) Did not compete during the cross country season, but finished fourth at the 2001 Big Ten Championship in the 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 14:37.63.
1999:(Sophomore) Competed in four meets for the Illini ... Ran a personal best 8K time of 25:42.46 at the Pre-Regional meet ... Was Illinois’ top finisher at the Pre-NCAA "B Race," placing 31st ... Top individual finish was 13th at the Pre-Regional Meet.
1998: (Freshman) Ran in three meets for Illinois as a freshman ... Best race came at the Illinois Invitational, registering a 33rd place finish over 10K.
HIGH SCHOOL:... Earned four letters in cross country and three in track ... Placed 31st at the Class AA cross country meet as a senior, helping lead Wheeling to a third place finish ... Earned All-State honors in cross country as a junior, placing 21st at state.
PERSONAL:... Parents are Don and Carol Kronforst ... Majoring in biology ... Uncle John Kronforst was a running back for Wake Forest University ... Illinois State Scholar and National Honor Society member.
