CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - As the Illinois men and women's tennis programs wind down their fall schedules, Illini fans will have another chance to see their Orange and Blue netters in action at a free exhibition being played at the Decatur Athletic Club in Decatur, Ill., on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Both squads will be in action over the course of the exhibition, while fans also will have a chance to win Illinois basketball tickets, a Prince tennis racquet and a case of Wilson tennis balls in a giveaway.

The 2007 NCAA finalist men's squad features nationally-ranked Ryan Rowe, a two-time All-American, along with most of the lineup that helped lead the Illini to the NCAA finals a year ago, including seniors Brandon Davis and Ruben Gonzales, 2007 NCAA All-Tournament team selection junior Marc Spicijaric and sophomores Billy Heiser and Jordan Knue. The newest additions to the team include freshmen Calon Alpar, Connor Roth and Abe Souza. The Illini finished the season in the top-five in 2007, while they held a top-10 ranking in every poll last season except one.

The Illinois women boast a young and exciting lineup to watch as second-year head coach Michelle Dasso has continued to rebuild the program into one of the top Big Ten squads. After an up-and-down season a year ago, the talented sophomore class, led by Megan Fudge, who ranked as high as 10th in the Midwest in 2007, is ready to lead the Illini into 2008. The remainder of the class includes Leigh Finnegan, who is returning to the lineup after sitting out most of 2007 with a foot injury, and Kristina Minor. With a core of upperclassmen, that includes Alejandra Meza Cuadra and Momei Qu and junior Shivani Davé, along with a talented freshmen class of Candy Graetz, Marisa Lambropoulos and Annie McCarthy, the Illini are geared up and ready for a challenging season.

The exhibition is slated to last from 7-8 p.m., while both squads will be open for autographs following the evening's matches and head coaches Brad Dancer of the men's team and Dasso will be on hand to visit with fans.
