    Spicijaric and Kalmanovich Head to All-Americans

    Illini Take on Top Competition at the All-American Championship Qualifier

    CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois men's tennis senior Marc Spicijaric and sophomore Roy Kalmanovich are set to compete at the 2008 D'Novo Men's All-American Championship (Oct. 6-12) in Tulsa, Okla. The tournament will be played on the courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus, beginning with a qualifying round of singles and doubles (Oct. 6-8), followed by the main draw (Oct. 9-12).

    Kalmanovich holds the No. 98 ranking in the ITA preseason singles rankings and will face New Mexico State's Gustave Diep in the first round of qualifying. Spicijaric, preseason No. 110, will battle against Florida's Jeff Dadamo in the opening round.

    The two Illini will team up in doubles, taking on the South Florida duo of Lucas Jovita and Killani Wael.

    Play opens on Monday, Oct. 6, with first round singles. A single round of consolation play will be played on Oct. 7 for first-round losers. Both the first and second round of the doubles qualifier will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 7, with the third and qualifying rounds taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
