BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Former Illini Kevin Anderson won three straight matches en route to the championship match of the Levene, Gouldin and Thompson Tennis Challenger Sunday in Binghamton, N.Y., before falling 7-6 (7), 7-6 (11) to No. 2-seed Paul Capdeville (CHI).

Anderson and fellow former Illini Ryler DeHeart advanced to the semifinals of doubles play but were defeated by Carsten Ball (AUS) and Kaes Van't Hof (USA), 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-6.

In action this week on the ATP World Tour, former Illini Rajeev Ram will be competing in the doubles main draw at the Western and Southern Financial Group Masters tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio, Aug. 15-23. Ram will pair up with Jesse Levine (USA) to take on Andy Ram (ISR) and Max Mirnyi (BLR), with the winner of the match meeting top-seeded Mike Bryan (USA) and Bob Bryan (USA) in the second round.
