ATHENS, Ga.  - The NCAA officially released the tournament draws for the Singles and Doubles Championships on Tuesday morning. Singles, which gets underway on Wednesday, will feature No. 8 seed Jared Hiltzik and Big Ten Tennis Player of the Year and at-large selection Farris Gosea. Meanwhile, No. 5-8 seeded Ross Guignon and Tim Kopinski will begin their doubles quest on Thursday.

Hiltzik's first round matchup is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT vs. California's Ben McLachlan. If successful, Hiltzik will battle the winner of the Henry Craig (Denver) vs. Andrew Harris (Oklahoma) contest. Other seeded opponents in Hiltzik's portion of the bracket include No. 9-16 Yannick Hanfmann of USC and No. 2 Marcos Giron of UCLA. Hiltzik defeated both Harris and Giron in last fall's ITA National Indoor Championships in New York.

Farris Gosea will be the first Illini to get started with a 10 a.m. CT encounter with Wake Forest's Romain Bogaerts. A possible second round matchup looms with two opponents Illinois has encountered this spring in North Carolina's No. 9-16 Brayden Schnur and Pepperdine's Alex Sarkissian. Other top seeded foes in Gosea's quarter of the bracket include top-seed Clay Thompson of UCLA, No. 6 Alex Domijan of Virginia and No. 9-16 Peter Kobelt of Ohio State, whom Gosea knocked off at the end of March.

In doubles, Illinois fans will finally get to see the conclusion of a match that went unfinished earlier in the season between Kopinski/Guignon and Clemson's Hunter Harrington and Dominique Maden. Their match on Jan. 25 was stopped in the tiebreaker. If victorious, Round of 16 opponents could either be Nevada's Robert Allan/Victor Ouvrard or VCU's Alexis Heugas/Nick Jones. In addition, a potential quarterfinal matchup includes No. 3 seed Gonzales Austin and Ryan Lipman of Vanderbilt ,in a revenge match from last year's NCAA Tournament loss.
