In the third edition of "On the Marc", junior Marc Spicijaric talks about the teams' trip to the 2008 ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle, Wash.
Hey Illini Fans!
We are gearing up for our trip out to Seattle where we are playing in the ITA National Indoors. We play USC on Friday at 2:30 and are very excited and prepared to play them. We are starting to feel more and more confident as the week's progress. We are coming off of a win last weekend against LSU, who we lost to last year so it was nice to get some revenge on them even though we didn't play our best, a win is a win. This week in practice we had to turn down the intensity because a lot of the people on the team were sick, but we are all starting to feel better. We are all in good shape so having a lighter day or two didn't hurt us.
This weekend is a very important weekend for us because we will be able to test ourselves against the best in the country. We have had a few tough matches this year so far so I think that helped us out a lot and made us even more prepared for this weekend. We know that each match will be a battle, but we are all ready for it and are looking forward to stepping up to the challenge.
Another reason we are very excited to go out to Seattle is because we are expecting a lot of fans out there. A lot of our families are coming out to support from all over the world. My parents are making their way from Croatia and we are expecting to see Rubens parents and Billy's Parents, among others. Our fan base and the support we receive is what makes it so special for us to play for Illinois and that is something we all appreciate.
GO ILLINI!
