Sophomore Stephen Hoh advanced to the third round at Big Ten Indoors.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - In day two of action at the Big Ten Indoor Tournament hosted by Michigan State, sophomore Stephen Hoh advanced to the third round in singles play, while a pair of Illini picked up wins in the back draw. In doubles action on Friday, the Illini collected six victories to open the tournament.
In Saturday's action, Hoh defeated Alex Buzzi (Michigan), 6-0, 6-2 and Chase Tomlins (Iowa), 6-1, 6-1 to advance to Sunday's third round, while fellow sophomore Bruno Abdelnour secured a first-round win over Russell Bader (Penn State), 7-6 (6), 6-3, before falling to Brendan Ruddock (Minnesota), 6-1, 1-6, 6-1. In the back draw, redshirt freshman Brian Alden topped Guanhua Chen (Penn State), 6-2, 7-6 (4) and senior Connor Roth defeated Jeron Gortworst (Iowa), 7-5, 6-4.
In Friday's doubles matches, the tandems of Roth and Abdelnour and senior Johnny Hamui and Hoh led the Illini with a combined five victories on the day.
