COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Fighting Illini men's tennis team won six matches Saturday during day two of the Conference Challenge, hosted by Texas A&M. Freshman Jared Hiltzik led the way with two wins.

In round one of singles play, sophomore Tim Kopinski and newcomers Julian Childers and Hiltzik each claimed victories for the Orange and Blue. Kopinski took down Roger Anderson of LSU, 6-3 7-6(2), while Childers claimed a convincing 7-5, 6-1 win over Harrison Kennedy (LSU). Hiltzik battled his way to a victory in 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 thriller against Texas A&M's Jackson Withrow.

In the following round, freshman Brian Page downed Nate Lammons (SMU), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, while Hiltzik and classmate Alex Jesse cruised to 6-2, 6-3 wins over LSU's Tam Trinh and Mark Bowtell, respectively.

The Orange and Blue will wrap up play at the Conference Challenge tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m. CT.
