    Known as the spirit of Illinois tennis because of the way he competes with a ferocious tenacity every match ... Posted a 16-8 record in singles and a 12-7 ledger in doubles ... Suffered a rare lung injury that sidelined him for five duals in the heart of the Big Ten regular season ... Posted singles marks of 14-7 in duals and 3-2 in conference matches ... Primarily played at No. 4 singles, carding an 8-3 ledger ... Also saw action in the No. 2 (1-1) and No. 3 (5-3) singles slots... His best doubles performance came with junior Brandon Davis as the pair went 2-2 against ranked opponents, 8-5 overall and 3-1 in Big Tens ...
